Fellowship & Training Opportunities

At The Standard, we are committed to developing the next generation of theatre artists, educators, and creative leaders.

Our Fellowship and Training Programs provide hands-on opportunities for emerging artists to deepen their skills while working alongside experienced theatre professionals. Fellows and trainees participate directly in the artistic life of the company—assisting in rehearsals, supporting productions, engaging in educational programs, and gaining meaningful experience in the rehearsal room and behind the scenes.

These programs are designed for individuals who are serious about pursuing careers in theater, arts education, or creative leadership. Through mentorship, practical experience, and collaborative work, fellows develop a deeper understanding of the creative and professional demands of the field.

At The Standard, fellowship training is more than observation—it is active participation in the process of making theatre.

Because the best way to learn this art form is by doing the work, alongside artists who are committed to raising the standard of what theatre can be.

Script & Project Submissions

At The Standard Theatre Company, we welcome script submissions from playwrights, composers, and theatre makers who are passionate about bringing compelling work to the stage.

We are interested in plays and musicals that explore meaningful human stories, challenge artists and audiences, and contribute to a vibrant theatrical landscape in our community.

Our programming includes mainstage productions, youth and emerging artist productions, staged readings, workshops, and developmental opportunities for new work. Submissions may be considered for full productions, readings, or future development with our artists and students.

Playwrights and creators are invited to submit their work for consideration as we continue building a culture that supports new voices, bold storytelling, and collaborative artistic development.

Because at The Standard, great theatre begins with great stories—and we believe those stories can come from anywhere.
