The Standard Theatre Company is a new organization built on decades of professional experience in theatre, education, and production.

While the company itself is newly formed, its founders and faculty bring years of work in the performing arts; as directors, actors, educators, designers, and producers who have trained, performed, and taught in professional theatres, universities, and conservatories across the country.

For years, the artists behind The Standard have mentored students, produced productions, and built creative programs across the region. Through that work, it became clear that what was needed was not simply another program, but a dedicated artistic home. A place where professional standards, education, and community engagement could live under one roof.

At the heart of our company is a commitment to collaboration. We strongly believe in the need to bring artists, educators, and organizations together. Our mission is to bridge companies, connect artistic creatives, and create opportunities that extend far beyond any single production or space.  As we grow, we will not grow in isolation. We will be building alongside a community who share our commitment to thoughtful and inspiring work, and how we can share that with the next generation of emerging artists, and our community at large.

The Standard was created to fill that need.

We produce theatrical productions, offer training for artists of all ages, and provide pre-professional opportunities for young performers who want to take their craft seriously. 

 

The Standard is still at the beginning of its story.

But the artists behind it have spent their careers preparing for exactly this moment: building a place where the next generation of performers can train, create, and raise the standard of what theatre can be in our community.
