Cristina Sohns-Williams

Cristina Sohns Williams is a highly respected choreographer, educator, and artistic leader with more than three decades of experience shaping the dance and theatre landscape in the region. Based in Dunmore, she has dedicated her career to developing artists, elevating performance standards, and contributing to a vibrant and enduring arts community.

For 28 years, Cristina served as Owner and Artistic Director of the GSW Studio of Dance, where she built a legacy of excellence in training and choreography. She also held multiple leadership roles with the Abington Heights Civic League Dance Academy over a 32-year span, including Director, Assistant Director, choreographic consultant, and stage manager. Cristina’s choreographic work has been featured across numerous high schools and institutions, including Dunmore, North Pocono, Abington Heights, Valley View, Lakeland, Honesdale, and Northwestern Lehigh, as well as Penn State Worthington Players, Northampton Community College Theatre Department, and NCC’s Professional Summer Theatre.

Her teaching career extends to organizations such as the Scranton Civic Ballet Company/Civic Dance Center, Linn McDonald School of Dance, the University of Scranton, Pocono Playhouse Children’s Theatre, Imagine Performing Arts Center, and the Creative and Performing Arts Academy of NEPA. In addition, she serves as an adjunct faculty member at Marywood University and Northampton Community College.

With choreography and performance credits spanning more than 350 productions, Cristina brings a depth of experience, artistry, and leadership that is both rare and deeply impactful. Her professional affiliations include Dance Educators of America, and her work has reached beyond the region through projects such as The Happy Elf at the Scranton Cultural Center and collaborations in New York City.

Cristina’s career is defined not only by longevity, but by the generations of performers she has trained, mentored, and inspired—leaving a lasting imprint on the arts community through her commitment to excellence and passion for the craft.
