Marikate Sullivan
Marikate Sullivan is a dancer, choreographer, and educator with a lifelong connection to the performing arts. She began her classical training at Degnan Ballet Center in 1997, where she developed a strong technical foundation and an early passion for dance.
She later expanded her training at the Dance Theater of Wilkes-Barre, studying modern dance and ballroom with artists including Gina Malsky, Bridget Giunta-Husted, and Raphael Cooper. During this time, she also discovered a love for musical theatre, performing in numerous local productions.
Marikate went on to teach at Encore School of Dance, where she worked with students ages 5–16 in ballet, lyrical, and theatre, while also choreographing for KISS Theatre and regional venues including The Grove Theatre and Ovation Playhouse. She currently teaches at Live Love Dance Studio in Kingston, where she has been on faculty since 2017, working with students from early childhood through adulthood in ballet, lyrical, contemporary, and ballroom.
In addition to her studio work, Marikate leads Zumbini classes for young children and their caregivers throughout NEPA, creating engaging, music-driven experiences that foster early connection to movement and the arts.
Marikate is passionate about building strong, supportive dance environments where students can grow with confidence, creativity, and discipline. She is proud to share her love of the arts with her husband, Michael Marone, and their children, Harper and Matteo.
