Jillian Kemmerer
Jillian Kemmerer has been immersed in the performing arts for as long as she can remember. From her first time on stage at the age of five, music and performance have remained a constant thread throughout her life—shaping her work as a performer, creative collaborator, and arts advocate. Her experience spans vocal performance, musical theatre, and dramatic productions, as well as extensive work in costuming and technical design.
Jillian holds a degree in Music Education with an emphasis in performance and was accepted into the Vocal Pedagogy and Performance program at NYU Steinhardt. While her professional path has extended into other fields, her commitment to artistic excellence has remained unwavering. She brings that same dedication to her work, her family, and her role as a founding member of The Standard Theatre Company, where she is passionate about elevating the quality of work and enriching the cultural landscape of the NEPA community.
Her performance credits include Jo (Little Women), Maria (The Sound of Music), Puck (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), The Chaperone (The Drowsy Chaperone), Truvy (Steel Magnolias), and Blanche Ingram (Jane Eyre), among others. Jillian has also served as a musical director and vocal coach for productions including The Sound of Music, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, and Something’s Afoot.
In addition to her performance work, she has contributed extensively behind the scenes as a costume designer and builder for productions such as Oliver!, Twelfth Night, Romeo and Juliet, and The Comedy of Errors, and has directed and provided technical direction for multiple productions including Twain by the Tale, A Little Night Music, Beauty and the Beast, and Guys and Dolls.
One of Jillian’s most impactful contributions to the arts community is the creation of the Excellence in Theatre Arts Awards (ESTA Awards)—a Tony Award–style program recognizing high school theatre programs across the region. Over seven years, the program grew to serve more than a dozen schools, celebrating student achievement and fostering a deeper appreciation for the arts within the community.
Jillian believes deeply in the discipline, integrity, and meaningful work required to bring stories to life, and is honored to help shape a space where artists can grow, collaborate, and create work of the highest standard.
