Jamie Burns
Jamie is a choreographer and educator with a lifelong passion for dance, performance, and artist development. She began her training at the Joan Harris Centre at the age of three, studying Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Modern, and continued her performance work throughout her school years as both a varsity cheerleader and UCA All-American at Wyoming Valley West High School.
Her performance background includes a range of theatre and community productions, along with additional training in acting through the Backstage Pass Program and dance studies at Broadway Dance Center in New York City. These experiences have shaped her dynamic and versatile approach to choreography and movement.
Jamie currently works as a choreographer across multiple programs, including the Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack/CAPAA Program, Dallas Middle School Drama Program, Ovation Playhouse, and Kirby Kidz. While her early years were rooted in performance, she now finds her greatest fulfillment in mentoring young artists—supporting their growth both onstage and behind the scenes.
In addition to her work in the arts, Jamie is deeply committed to education. She holds a degree in Early Childhood Education and a ParaEducator certification, and is continuing her studies at Wilkes University in Elementary and Early Childhood Education with a minor in Special Education. She currently serves as the Director of the Bear Creek Community Charter School YMCA.
Jamie is dedicated to creating supportive, engaging environments where young performers can build confidence, develop discipline, and discover a lasting love for the arts. She is also a proud mother to her son, Aidan James, who continues to inspire her both personally and professionally.
